Sunflower Fields and Firefly Kisses.

Ugh. Started my all-day fast and I'm still going strong, but I've heard SO many horror stories of the ill-famed cravings strike. I'm planning on carrying a water bottle all day, starting on the pattern-cutting on my skirt (distraction), and playing wii sports forever. Silly me, I majorly splurged yesterday at the 4th of July party...now I have to work it all off! :(

I finally went fabric shopping today!!! Got a lovely classic sort of print--dusty pink floral on ivory--and it's really cute. :) I noticed, however, that there is a massive uprising of polyester in the lace population. Quite sad--didn't find any I liked today except for a cotton/rayon cluny, and I didn't get it. Going to keep on hunting. Does anyone know where you can buy lolita-usable blouses in the US? I really don't have to make one of those, too XD

I was sitting in Art Appreciation today, studying advanced color theory, when it hit me: dress designers must use color theory in every piece they make! That gave me a whole new appreciation for fashion--especially lolita, 'cuz how hard is it to not only make a pattern, but make it in an interesting color scheme and not just light pink or blue??? Three cheers for the neon-lolis and all the other color-lovers out there! :D

Dolls. What is it about them that some lolitas find so fascinating? Honestly, I think that most of them are kind of creepy...XD. I myself love stuffed animals and I think that some dolls are cute, but what is it with all of the communities and obsessions based around them? I guess I just don't understand--but then again, that's why I'm asking. XD

So today I realized something.

NO ONE EVER CALLS ME HOT.

Seriously. I've been called hot like, twice in my fifteen years. But people always, ALWAYS call me cute. Or adorable. Or sweet. What does that MEAN?! Is it a good thing? Or does it mean that they simply don't think I'm attractive and need a nice way to say it???

Ugh. I am SO tired right now. I just returned from an all-day river tubing trip, and I left at NINE IN THE MORNING!!! That means that I have had NO days to sleep in this week! Monday-Friday I have to be at my art honors camp from 8-3, and on Sunday I have to be at church. I have no energy TT-TT
So next week I will be purchasing my first pattern and buying fabric<3 I hope to finish the skirt in about a week, because I don't have much time to sew, but it's really guesswork, seeing as my schedule could totally crap itself up again XD
I was doodling around on the computer yesterday and thought of something. Now, we all know that there are lolita webcomics out there--not a LOT of good ones, but they're there--but what about lolita stories? Like short stories or series about being a lolita? Idk, a Kamikaze Girls sort of thing? Where on earth could I find something like that? I've googled "Lolita stories", but GOD KNOWS what came up under search. I can tell you it wasn't anything to do with lovely girls in their favorite fashion...Anyhoo, if anyone knows any links, please let me know. ^-^

I have been lurking around the lolita community here for about six months, and this summer I'm FINALLY thinking of seriously going into lolita-action. *nods* However, I live in a place where there are NO lolis anywhere close....so I REALLY need some lolita friends to be there to understand what I'm doing with this thing...even if they're only online. So if there are any other lonely lolis out there, let me know :)
